The description of Yomawari: Night Alone - Play With New Friends
A 2D Survival Game With A Small Girl And A FlashlightYou are a young female character in a dark town that is filled with sprits that wish to harm you. Yomawari: Night Alone is somewhat of a story-driven game that relies on atmosphere with a dash of frustration to help see the player through from beginning to end. The game is a stealth survival game. It's difficult to use the word 'horror' here because there is nothing scary about creepy looking two-dimensionally drawn sprits.Spend Coins On Save Points To Avoid Too Much FrustrationYomawari: Night Alone is a light horror game that has stealth elements jump scares and twitch-timing challenges. The pacing and the atmosphere are clearly the reason why this game attracts so many players. The story has suspense but its reliance on hidden secrets is not enough to make the un-intriguing story any more interesting but in its defense the story doesn't take a back seat even near the end when the game becomes more action orientated. The survival mechanism that relies on running and stealth rather than attacking is uncommon and very welcome. Despite its Japanese feel it was made by NIS America Inc. Many players find themselves wanting to like Yomawari: Night Alone so much that they will forgive it anything. Conclusion - Very Similar Design To The Movie Spirited AwayThe game is not as unique as it appears but it has an invigorating atmosphere that feels like it deserves its own cult-like following. If the trailers interest you then give the game a try but wait for a sale or for the price to drop before you invest. It is good but the jump scares and instant kills may start to bother you halfway through. It does emulate a current trend for run-away survival games but it does it well and is still an uncommon entity that should be applauded for its addition and innovation to the genre.
