Most screenmates do nothing except run around your screen and generally getting in the way. Others are hooked into a more specific function like Microsoft Agents, which act like, glorified tip-of-the-day dispensers.The 'worm' screenmate is incomplete (the source code is forever lost :(, hard drive crash all these years ago). One of the main problems this test program addressed was the clipping of irregular shaped animating windows (unlike the original sheep screenmate). However the clipping routines of Windows is extremely inefficient. (if you run over 10 worms you would see screen artifacts drag behind the worms).
