WinRAR is one of the most popular compression and extraction programs around. There are several reasons for that but we have to point out its compatibility with a wide range of formats, how easy it is to use and the fact that we can still use it for free even after its trial period is over.

And many users have resorted to WinRAR Portable (Unplugged), the portable version of this software. Mainly because it allows us to deal with compressed files on any PC even if we haven't got permission to install software. We only have to run it from a USB stick and that's it. The same goes if we want to send several files as an email attachment from a computer with restricted use, at school or work, for instance.
