VideoSpirit Pro Editor's Review VideoSpirit is a software with two main functions: one is to edit video files and the other to convert from a format to one of the many other supported video formats (AVI, VCD / SVCD / DVD / MPEG and so on). Besides the obvious editing tools (split, join, combine, warp, resize and others), you can add subtitles, titles or slide effects (fade in / out, line in /out and many others) to your videos. It has a small video player in which you can preview the video you’re working with and five timelines which represent the video track, overlay track, title track, audio track and also voice track. To add an effect it's as simple as it can be – you just have to drag and drop the slide effect over your video, modify if you wish the beginning or the duration of the slide effect and you’re done. To be fully operable, you’ll have to install a few codec packages (as K-lite Codec Pack) for decoding most of the video files or Quick Time player, for “mov” files. Besides warning you that you need those, it will give you the download link for the codec packs so you’ll get quickly all that you need. Pluses:Fast converting speed. I liked that importing a movie into the software for editing, adding all kind of effects, joining together more vides and other operations went really quick as it was for converting files from a format to another. Drawbacks / flaws: Not very intuitive for inexperienced or new users. In conclusion: A good software for its intended purpose. version reviewed: v1.40
