mail|avail Home is a service which tests the availability of the email system. It does so by sending out emails on a regular base. An external email system returns these test emails to the sender. In case these receipts do not return in time the mail|avail service will notify the user. The following errors can be detected:the machine sending out the email has no connection to the LANthe machine sending out the email has no connection to the mail serverthe mail server has no connection to the WAN (internet connection down)the mail server is not known to the WAN (DNS-failure)the mail account was disabled or deletedthe mailbox is fulla mail alias was deleted or is not forwarded to the correct mailboxthe mail server is not working (hardware or software failure)some spam filter is too agressive (and filters out important mails)The user can be notified bypopping up a dialog on the screen.sending email(s) to internal or external account(s).
