You are able to set the desired quality, depending on your sound card capabilities. Three output formats are available: MP3, WMA and WAV. For MP3 files you can set the bitrate of the compressed music file between 8kbps and 320kbps. When recording is done using WMA format, available bitrates range between 28,8kbps and 128kbps. To record, all you have to do is to select the audio input source, the output type, and the press the "Start Recording" button. When you finished recording you just press the "Stop" button. On the user interface there is a nice looking counter that shows you how much time passed since you started recording. Being freeware gives this program a very big advantage over the competition. I found a lot of recording software that asks you to pay before you can enjoy its full benefits. I recommend this program for home users who don't want any "fancy" stuff, and just want to record from their soundcard.Pluses: I've recorded a MP3 file of over two hours and didn't find any problems.
