Dubloon is a turn-based RPG in proper 16-bit JRPG style where instead of playing the typical mythical hero or one that's been chosen by the gods, you play a dirty thieving pirate.When you start, you'll have to pick your character's name and attributes: decide on features like level of strength, speed, luck, etc. These attributes will ultimately determine the way your character plays, so choose wisely.At the beginning of the story, you'll be plunged into a pirate plot in which you'll have to raid enemy ships, enter caves filled with monsters, face enemy bosses, and obviously loot lots of treasure. The battles are very similar to the classic games from the Final Fantasy saga. In other words, each turn you'll have a time bar and every time your character's bar refills you'll be able to attack. Same for your enemies.Dubloon is a free indie RPG that stands out mainly for its unique theme. Very few games from this genre deal with pirates and even fewer let you play one.
