The description of Disk Space Fan - Play With New Friends
Disk Space Fan Editor's Review
These days, hard drives offer more storage space for lower prices than ever before. However, I've found on my own that no matter how large is your hard drive, sooner or later you'll fill it up with something. I'm quite sure that you know what I'm talking about and you have seen already the annoying "low disk space warning" (and the consequences) on your own. At that point, you might want to analyze your hard drive and find the files and folders that are taking the most space, but in case you have hundreds of folders with thousands of files - you're in trouble. Considering it's impossible to use Windows to determine which folders use the most space (or at list, not the easy way), I'd like to recommend you to use Disk Space Fan. This gorgeous application can display the amount of space taken by each folder and the files contained within. As you start the application, you will find an overview of your local drives. Select the one that you want analyze and click the 'Scan for Details' button. When the process is done, you will see your files and folders displayed on the left side, with the graph shown on the right side. You can move your mouse over each block to find out the folder they represent. You can also right click on any block (no matter if represents a file or a folder) and delete it, open it, browse the content and so on. More to this, you can analyze a specific folder from 'Home'. To proceed, click 'Home' wherever you're, click 'Scan Folder', select the folder that you want to analyze, click 'View Scan Result' and then you'll see the graph for the current folder. One thing that I want to inform you, there is a paid version too which brings useful functionality like: duplicate files search, comparison criteria, filters and more. You can buy it for 19.95$ from the developers website. Pluses: Eye-candy, very easy to use; Drawbacks / flaws: In conclusion: A great utility that will be your best friend when it comes to analyze the content of your local drives (in order to make some cleaning). v2.2.7
