TrueType fonts were a great advance with regard to viewing text on a computer screen. It has been proved that the luminosity and the contrast of any computer screen can damage people's eye-sight, so any kind of improvement to the definition and quality to help how we view anything on a screen is very good. ClearType Tuner is an application that will help us to fine-tune the quality of the TrueType fonts. This small application is part of the PowerToys that Microsoft launches for its operating systems, that are nothing more than small applications that haven't been included by default in the system, but that can be used to configure or improve some functions. ClearType Tuner is the one in charge of improving how the fonts are seen. This program shows a series of options and settings that the user will have to choose from to improve how the texts are shown. Of course, at all moments we'll be able to see a test text that modifies its properties in real time. At the same time, it's possible to use an assistant to choose various options so that the program configures the parameters.
Requirements and additional information:This application is compatible with Windows Vista or above.
It's advisable to only use it on a system in English.
