Mac Computers come with good set of tools for music composition. One is Ardour, an open source application for editing digital sound that is on par with the great commercial and professional programs.
Multichannel recording, non-destructive editing, Undo / Redo unlimited, task automation, time synchronization or a powerful mixer are some of the features of the program.
Ardour can be connected to external devices such as input / output, although to do this it is necessary to install Jack OS X, an audio server capable of connecting several applications to a single audio device and sound information exchange between them.
Careful!Ardour server only runs under X11, and it still does not yet have a native version for Mac OS X, so you need X11 if you want to run the application.
