The Call of Lophis (also known as Dark Dungeon Survival) is a card dueling game with some 'roguelike' aspects that challenges you to control an adventurer who must go embark on a journey filled with dungeons and fight against a ton of different enemies. The combat system in The Call of Lophis is in a way reminiscent of Slay the Spire. During your turn, you'll use a certain number of cards and you'll earn a specific number of energy points. Each card, as usual, has its own energy point value and lets you carry out different actions: attack, defend, apply statuses...Learning how to combine the cards is key in order to destroy your enemies. Between combats, you can move your hero around the map, choosing your next destination. You'll stumble upon different monsters that you have to fight in different locations, but you can also use some others to buy new cards, rest and recover life points, and even talk to other characters of the game.The Call of Lophis is an excellent card 'roguelike' that offers a unique and entertaining gameplay plus pretty great visuals. As you continue playing (and possibly losing), you can also unlock new cards and new characters, which will supply more variety to your gaming experience.
