Arbeit macht frei, Work sets you free, is the infamous phrase that was found at the entrance of Nazi concentration camps like Auschwitz or Dachau. And like all the speeches of Hitler and all that riffraff, a lie like a picador's hat. Work does not make you free: work stresses you out and is presented in more than a few cases as a more sophisticated form of slavery by which we sell our soul in exchange for a handout to buy shit we don't need. But well, we will leave a little aside the discourse of harassing capitalism, thanks to which I can write this and you can read it, and we will dedicate ourselves to glossing the goodness of Smash the Office.
Destroy your office and free yourself
Free yourself" sang Rafael Conde "El Titi", and that is exactly what this game of destruction and social action offers us, in which we will immerse ourselves in a spiral of self-improvement that consists of assuming the role of a pissed-off office worker who breaks his chains by razing the office where he is employed. Your mission will be to destroy everything around you, for which you will have a limited time that you can increase with different hidden bonuses.
The game presents a third-person view and we only have to manage our character with the left cursor and clicking on the right to hit everything around him. We can collect coins on our way and use them to buy suits and weapons to improve our destructive power, use powerups and participate in different game modes, some of them inspired by the legendary scene of Mike Judge's Office Space (movie that you are late to see if you have not done so).
Undoubtedly an excellent game that has served me to mention Hitler, El Titi and Mike Judge in a review.
