The description of Re:Infinite - Play With New Friends
Re:Infinite is an interesting mix of SRPG and roguelike, where you control a group of three girls as they make their way through a series of procedurally-generated dungeons. In each dungeon, you'll run into a group of enemies that you'll have to fight, doing what you can to suffer as little damage as possible.
The dungeon's progression system is reminiscent of games like Slay the Spire or, even earlier, FTL. In other words, you can select where you want to move without knowing what you'll find there: a confrontation, a random event, a store, or some other type of encounter.
All the combat in Re:Infinite is turn-based. Each turn, you can move and attack with your three characters, but you should be careful which squares you end on, since once your turn is done, it will be your enemies' turn. Each character has a special ability that you have to learn to make the most of. One is especially good at melee, while another is very good at attacks from a distance, and the third (the mage) is better as a supporting character.
Re:Infinite is an excellent combination of roguelike and strategy. Even better, it throws a cool anime aesthetic into the mix. In short, this is a remarkable game with a good difficulty curve that fans of this genre will thoroughly enjoy.
