To play Mighty Mage is to return to the 80s, a time when interactive fiction prevailed – genuine sagas in text form, closer to Choose Your Own Adventure books than traditional video games. This reading-based experience evoked epic feats in which you make decisions and interact with your surroundings. In this case, given that the smartphone experience doesn't especially lend itself the use of the keyboard, you're always given the option to choose between two different actions. In addition, there's a big role-play component in the experience, so you have to level up your character, manage his inventory, and fight against other creatures, choosing which type of attack to make. Mighty Mage isn't for everyone, since it uses a gameplay that will seem extremely old-school to anyone used to amazing graphics. This doesn't take away from the fact that here we have a fantastic game representing a golden age for fans of fantasy and classic video games.
