The app comes with a couple of amazing functionalities. With the tap of a button, the app user sends an alert message to an unlimited number of people, presumably friends, who will offer immediate assistance while rescue groups are on the way. This will help prevent impending girl circumcision. In addition to sending alert messages at once to many people, the tap of the emergency button also initiates a call to SOMESHA DADA INITIATIVE, a youth advocacy group in the Maasai community, who have grassroots volunteers in every village. The volunteers will rush to the location of the FGM victim, and if not yet circumcised, they will coordinate with rescue centers nearby to guarantee the safety of the victim. If already circumcised, they will contact law enforcement and have the girls taken to the rescue centers after several days. The app user also has an option of calling a rescue center in her sub-county to ensure the success of the rescue operation, since Somesha Dada Initiative group works with the rescue centers.
