Arcane Soul is a 2D action game that combines certain elements from RPGs, like the possibility of beating a level or getting new guns and armor, with a direct combat system like that used in titles from Vanillaware like Odin Sphere or Muramasa.In Arcane Soul, you can choose to control one of three characters: a male or female warrior, or the assassin (who is unlocked once you get to level 4). Each character starts with different abilities, although besides these skills you can also improve all your hero's other characteristics.Besides beating levels, in Arcane Soul you'll also be able to get new equipment like rings, swords, armor and even pets who will help you in the most difficult battles.The combat system, while intuitive, has a lot of depth. You can attack, use magic spells (there are more than 40 of them), duck, and jump. What's more, you can also do combos, a series of linked attacks, on your enemies, which will allow you to activate a special 'fury mode' and do more damage.Arcane Soul is a superb 2D 'hack and slash' game that offers not just entertaining gameplay but also spectacular graphics.
